There will be fireworks when Real Madrid and Barcelona lock horns at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu in the first “El Clasico” of the season. Los Blancos came from two goals behind to crush Borussia Dortmund 5-2 in Tuesday’s Champions League game, which is surely fuelling fans with optimism ahead of the La Liga derby. As Rodrygo suffered a muscle injury in the midweek clash, Carlo Ancelotti is likely to use Ernesto Valverde as a right midfielder. Eduardo Camavinga should replace Rodrygo in the starting XI, while all Brahim Diaz, David Alaba, and Dani Carvajal remain in the recovery room. 

Barca, meanwhile, rolled over Sevilla 5-1 in their last league match, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry in Madrid. As the title holders are tough to beat at “Bernabeu”, we believe that there is a big value in betting on draw. As Southampton experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-2 loss to Leicester City, anything but a routine home win would be a big surprise. Ryan Fraser is banned for the visiting team, while Will Smallbone has overcome his injury.

All Under, Yuksek, Osayi-Samuel, Egribayat, and Oosterwolde are out of contention with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team. 

The Red Devils, meanwhile, head into Thursday’s clash following back-to-back draws with Twente and Porto. Erik ten Hag’s troops have been having their ups and downs of late, but given their attacking potential, both teams to score betting option should be considered. Bruno Fernandes is banned for the match, while Casemiro is unlikely to be risked after suffering a knock in a 2-1 win over Brentford.

The Bavarians, on the other hand, have been producing fine performances ever since Vincent Kompany took over the reins and given their attacking potential, we believe that there is a big value in betting on over 2.5 goals. The likes of Musiala, Pavlovic, Stanisic, and Boey are out of contention with injuries for the away team, while talented forward Mathys Tel is a major doubt. Harry Kane should keep his place up front as a lone centre-forward after scoring a hat-trick in a 3-0 crushing of Stuttgart.

Benjamin Sesko and Co. are desperate to grab something from the third group game, but they face a tough challenge against Arne Slot’s troops. Lois Openda should be fit for the match despite limping off with injury in a 2-0 win over Mainz at the weekend. 

The Reds, on the other hand, proved their worth in a 2-1 win over Chelsea on Sunday. Considering that Liverpool are a more experienced side than Leipzig, we are tempted to place our bets on the Premier League outfit. Diogo Jota has joined Alisson Becker and Harvey Elliott in the treatment room, while summer signing Federico Chiesa remains doubtful.

It has to be noted that the two sides meet for the first time in the elite competition. The likes of Garcia, Vitik, and Karinen are out of contention for the away team.

Score Prediction: Manchester City 4-1 Sparta Prague

Following a hard-fought win over Leganes in a small Madrid derby, Atletico Madrid will look to return to winning ways in the Champions League when they face Lille on Wednesday. Los Rojiblancos failed to impress in a 4-0 loss to Benfica, but they are surely capable of matching les Dogues at Riyadh Air Metropolitano. Both Julian Alvarez and Rodrigo de Paul should be recalled to the starting XI, while defender Clement Lenglet is a major doubt after limping off with injury in the last Primera Division game. 

Lille, on the other hand, are likely to adopt a defence-minded approach in this clash, but preventing Alexander Sorloth and Co. from finding the net at “Metropolitano” is easier said than done. Les Dogues did beat Real Madrid last time out, but given their difficulties on the road in the elite competition, home win should be considered. Midfielder Angel Gomes is back from suspension for the visiting side. 

Score Prediction: Atletico Madrid 1-0 Lille

Stadion Wankdorf will host Wednesday’s Champions League clash between Young Boys and Inter. The Yellow-Blacks defeated Luzern 2-1 at the weekend to put an end to their three-game losing run in all competitions, but they are still seen as big underdogs in the Champions League showdown against the Italian champions. All Conte, Janko, and Pfeiffer are sidelined with injuries, but there are no suspended players in the home team. 

The Nerazzurri, on the other hand, are on a four-game winning run in all competitions and they must be high on confidence following a hard-fought 1-0 win over AS Roma. As Inter are a more experienced side than Young Boys, we predict that Simone Inzaghi’s men are going to prove their worth on the field. Hakan Calhanoglu and Francesco Acerbi are unlikely to be risked after the duo limped off with injuries at the weekend, while Stefan de Vrij and Davide Frattesi should be recalled to the starting XI. Piotr Zielinski is yet another absentee in the away team.
