Buoyed by back-to-back wins over Bournemouth and West Ham, Chelsea will be aiming to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on Brighton on Matchday 6. Enzo Maresca is doing a great job with the Stamford Bridge outfit and, no doubt, his men are brimming with confidence ahead of Saturday’s clash. Nicolas Jackson should keep his place up front after scoring a brace in the London derby, while all Malo Gusto, Reece James, and Romeo Lavia remain in the recovery room. 

The Seagulls, on the other hand, head into the match following a 2-2 draw with Nottingham Forest. As Brighton struggled defensively in their last league match, we are tempted to place our bets on Chelsea, who have been showing signs of improvement of late. All James Milner, Matt O’Riley, Brajan Gruda, and Solly March are out of contention with injuries for the visiting team.

The Magpies aim to recover from a 3-1 loss to Fulham, but they will have a mountain to climb in Saturday’s matinee. All Lewis Miley, Callum Wilson, and Jamaal Lascelles are sidelined with injuries for the home team. The Citizens, on the other hand, saved one point from the Premier League derby against Arsenal, with John Stones scoring the equalizer in the stoppage time. 

Pep Guardiola’s men aim to retain top position in the standings and given Newcastle’s poor defensive display at Craven Cottage, we are tempted to place our bets on the reigning champions. Rodri is unlikely to recover in time to face the Magpies, with Mateo Kovacic likely to step up. Kevin De Bruyne returns from injury, which is yet another reason why away win should be considered.

Score Prediction: Newcastle 1-3 Manchester City

Following a goalless draw with Crystal Palace, Manchester United will look to return to winning ways when they take on Twente in their Europa League opener. The Red Devils are seen as favourites to win Wednesday’s game, but they will have to prove their worth on the field. All Victor Lindelof, Tyrell Malacia, Luke Shaw, and Leny Yoro are out of contention with injuries, while both Marcus Rashford and Rasmus Hojlund return to the starting XI. 

The Reds, on the other hand, rolled over Almere City 5-0 in their last league match and they are likely to adopt yet another attack-minded approach against Man Utd. Given Manchester United’s attacking potential at Old Trafford, we believe that there is a big value in betting on over 2.5 goals. Younes Taha and Michal Sadilek should be the only absentees in the visiting team this time out.

Score Prediction: Manchester United 2-1 Fc Twente

Following a brilliant 5-1 win over Villarreal, Barcelona will look to give fans yet another reason to celebrate when they take on Getafe in the La Liga round 7. The Catalan giants quickly bounced from the Champions League loss to Monaco, with the team crushing the Yellow Submarine at Estadio de la Ceramica and it is no wonder the bookies see them as hot favourites to beat los Azulones in front of home fans. First-choice goalkeeper Marc Andre ter Stegen limped off with injury at the weekend, with Inaki Pena likely to step up. Forward Ferran Torres is back from suspension. 

The capital club, on the other hand, have yet to record a win in the new Primera Division campaign and given their six-game losing run in Barcelona, we predict that the visitors are going to return to Madrid with their hands empty. Alvaro Rodriguez and Nabil Aberdin should be the only absentees in the away team.

Score Prediction: Barcelona 3-1 Getafe

Arsenal will look to book their place in the EFL Cup last 16 when they take on Bolton on Wednesday evening. The Gunners defended well in a 2-2 draw with their bitter rivals Man City at the weekend, but they are likely to adopt an attack-minded approach against Bolton. Leonardo Trossard misses out through suspension, while all Martin Odegaard, Mikel Merino, and Takehiro Tomiyasu remain in the recovery room. Gabriel Jesus is widely expected to start this time out. 

The Trotters, on the other hand, rolled over Reading 5-2 in their last League One game, but they face an uphill task in London. In their last meeting in the EFL Cup Arsenal defeated Bolton 2-1 and we predict that history is going to repeat itself. A man to keep an eye on in the away team will be Dion Charles, who scored a hat-trick in the last league fixture.

Arne Slot wants to win everything this season, but the former Feyenoord boss is widely expected to mix the squad for the EFL Cup game. Summer signing Federico Chiesa is pushing for his first Liverpool start, with Cody Gakpo likely to sneak into the starting XI as well. 

Goalkeeper Alisson Becker is unlikely to be risked, while midfielder Harvey Elliott remains in the recovery room. The Hammers, on the other hand, experienced all sorts of problems at the back in a 3-0 loss to Chelsea and given Liverpool’s fine form, we predict that Julen Lopetegui’s men are going to return to London with their hands empty. Niclas Fullkrug is a major doubt, while fellow attacker Michail Antonio should be recalled to the starting XI.

Real Madrid will look to extend their winning run to five games in all competitions when they take on Deportivo Alaves in yet another home fixture. Even though Real Madrid’s results are much better than their displays, Carlo Ancelotti’s men are seen as hot favourites to win Tuesday’s clash. A man to watch in the home team will be summer signing Kylian Mbappe, who has netted four goals in La Liga so far this term, while both Vinicius Junior and Antonio Rudiger return to the starting XI. 

The Basques, on the other hand, did well to beat Sevilla 2-1 at home in their last league match, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry at Estadio Santiago Bernabeu. In their last meeting in the Spanish capital Real Madrid crushed Deportivo Alaves 5-0 and we predict that history is going to repeat itself. There are no fresh injury worries in the away team.

Chelsea and Barrow face each other at Stamford Bridge in a David-vs-Goliath clash. The Blues aim to build on a routine 3-0 win over West Ham United and there is every chance boss Enzo Maresca will shuffle his pack. All Pedro Neto, Joao Felix, and Christopher Nkunku are pushing for a start, while the likes of Malo Gusto, Reece James, Armando Broja, and Romeo Lavia remain on the sidelines. 

The Bluebirds, on the other hand, aim to build on back-to-back wins over Grimsby Town and Newport County, but they will have a much bigger fish to fry against Chelsea, who have big ambitions for the 2024/2025 EFL Cup campaign. Even though there are no fresh injury worries in the away team, anything but a routine home win would be a big surprise. Barrow head coach Stephen Clemence is likely to stick to the 4-2-3-1 formation.

The Citizens showed character in the Premier League derby, with substitute John Stones scoring a late equalizer and, no doubt, this goal gave Pep Guardiola’s men an additional confidence boost. The towering defender should be recalled to the starting XI, while midfielder Rodri is unlikely to be risked after limping off with injury against Arsenal. 

All Jack Grealish, Phil Foden, and Mateo Kovacic should be recalled to the starting XI as well, while Nathan Ake and Oscar Bobb remain in the recovery room. The Hornets, on the other hand, struggled defensively in a 4-1 loss to Norwich City and given their 16-game losing run in meetings with Man City, anything but a routine home victory would be a big surprise. Both Francisco Sierralta and Daniel Bachmann are injured for the visiting team.
