Alejandro Garnacho Ferreyra is a footballer who plays as a left winger for English Premier league side, Manchester United.


Alejandro Garnacho was born on the 1st of July, 2004 to a Spanish father and an Argentine mother in Madrid, Spain.

Youth Team

Atletico Madrid

He began his playing career with Atletico Madrid youth teams where he made a handful of appearances for the club’s Juvenile and U-19 squads before moving to Manchester United in the summer of 2020 for a sum said to be in the region of £420,000.


Manchester United

It took Garnacho a while to get accustomed to his new surroundings in England but the South American forward soon rose to prominence as he played his way through the academy squads. The 2021/2022 season was however his breakout season in United’s academy after he played a key role in the U18’s FA youth cup triumph, scoring five goals including two in the final against Nottingham Forest.

His exploits saw him win the 2021/2022 Jimmy Murphy Young player of the Year, a seasonal award given to the best academy player in the club.

First Team Debut

Garnacho made his Premier league debut for the club on the 28th of April, 2022, coming on for Swedish winger, Anthony Elanga in the 1-1 draw against Chelsea. And although Garnacho will make just one more substitute appearance before the end of 2021/2022 season, the pacey winger is regarded as the hottest talent coming through the ranks at Old Trafford and has been tipped to feature more often for the first team in the future.

International career

Garnacho had his first taste of international football when he was called up to the Spanish U-18 squad and made his debut on the 8th of October, 2021.

Garnacho earned his first call up to the Argentina senior squad on the 7th of March 2022 as he earned a place in Lionel Scaloni 33-man squad for the FIFA 2022 World Cup qualifiers although the youngster is still yet to make an appearance for the La Albiceleste as he failed to come off the bench in any of the three qualifying games.

He also earned a call up to the Argentina U-20 side on the 26th of March, 2022 where he started in a friendly match against the United States of America.

Playing style

Garnacho is a highly trickish attacker blessed with pace and an amazing dribbling ability which enables him to beat his opponents with ease. The winger also has an eye for a goal and has proven to be more of a goalscoring winger than an outright entertainer with the player having netted a total of 15 times in 33 games in all competitions for Manchester United’s U-18 side in the 2021/2022 season.
